Modern Peter Pan (without all the sexist BS)

My fav movie of all time is Peter Pan. I love Labyrinth, Sleepy Hollow, and Heathers, but Disney's Peter Pan simply reigns supreme. (with HOOK right next to it) At an age when I couldn't understand the reality of boys never growing up, while women are constantly forced too, Peter Pan seemed like a true Utopia. Pirates, Indians, and fairies. What's a girl not to love? Oh yeah...and the flying.

Anyway, I've decided to incorporate Peter into my life in a new way. I usually just break out my Peter Pan costume whenever I have an excuse. (Halloween, a P Party...every other Sunday...you get the picture) But now, by simply sticking a feather in my new beanie. (FROM LONDON...tanks ebay!) I can keep my childhood happy and my head warm. My genius has no limits.

I mean a mature individual like myself needs to break out a bit SOMEHOW. I am soooo uptight and dull, at least I have a feather in my cap. ;)

Pirate Princess Chic

Yes, it's February, but it's also almost March. Which means its almost Spring, which means its almost Summer. Which means, I can dress as though I'm living in the tropics even though I'm in chilly Northern California.

Northern California is crazy though, and we've been having warm sunny days mixed with rainy gray days. Either way, I'm ready to break out my t-shirts, some cut up jeans, and a ton of smoky eye make up with bed head. It's time to look back and remember Elizabeth Swan and her "I just rolled out of bed, I look sexy, and I'm ready to go on a pirate adventure with some gorgeous men" style. Timeless, universal, and so applicable for the average college student.

To achieve this style you must simply do the following:

1. Shower, put product in your hair, and sleep in. (wonderful!) If this fails, wake up and use a large barreled curling iron on your ends while fluffing the top of your hair. If this creates a mess, use bobby pins to pin the rebel pieces back in a half up, half down messy do, making it look like it was ALLLLL part of the plan.

2. Apply generous amounts of eyeliner before bed and hope for the best when 10am comes. OR, apply eyeliner in the morning and use a gentle sponge to smudge the eyeliner perfectly. Make sure to not put the eyeliner on too thick, or else you will look like a male rock star. Also, make sure eyeliner is in the outside crease of the eye to give an almond shape like Keira Knightley.

3. The pout. With Keira, its all about the pout, and the pout is all about there is. SO, to achieve this either use a lip conditioner, or a nice moisturizing chap stick and maybe a pale, pale lipstick. The point is for the lips to be slightly pinker and lighter then your skin tone, but still looking natural.

4. The outfit. This is not so important, since, albeit a tragedy, none of us are probably going on an actual pirate adventure anytime soon. Still, there is no harm in a pair of slouchy leather boots, or a generously low cut top. (even if there is nothing to show, think like Keira and pout pout pout!)
Feel free to mix in some Jack Sparrow and wear some cut off shorts and a pair of sandals if the weather allows. The point is to look relaxed and channel a summer feeling.

Yes your life may be filled with curses and evil immortal pirates trying to kill you, but there is always time to sit down on a deserted island and get drunk next to a bonfire.

Batman's back

Sorry I've been MIA for the past few weeks. I had some 19 year old dramaz. Luckily, I have survived and have come out with some new news!
1. I'm going to Paris for Fall semester 2009
2. I love the TV show CHUCK
3. I love the TV show Psych.
4. I have an awesome new batman shirt from delias.
5. I went to my first DELIAS in roseville, CA
6. A silver lame bathing suit top is a girl's best friend, along with her best friends!
7. Bike's are just as much trouble as cars, but I still love my noble steed. (an ancient purple huffy beach cruiser who gets into more trouble then even me!)
8.Wonking is an acquired skill.
9. Smoking is extremely bad for your health. Esp. if you have asthma.
10. You only turn 13 twice. (I had a thirteenth birthday party last month...pirate lingerie themed...it's what all the other 13 year olds were doing!)

Anyways, now that you're all caught up, I'll make sure to update posts more! I'm getting anew digital camera tomorrow...so maybe there will be some actual photos on this thing!

Tuesday Morning Boredom

I had class at 9 this morning and somehow rolled out of bed and put a genuine effort into looking presentable, I even drank coffee and ate a special k bar!I've been on vacation the last few weeks and waking up at 9 has a different feeling then waking up at 12:30 and having coffee already made for you. Aka...it feels terrible. I'm so spoiled at home...:).

Anyway, I wake up, bike to class, get lost, get found and find a seat. Then, the professor talks for 16 minutes and dismisses class! This would normally be wonderful, except I'm hopped up on caffeine and sugar and have nothing to do till 12:10. I can't study b/c I'm too hyper and I can't sleep for obvious reasons.

So I just sit here fiddling and wishing there was a local discotech that I could visit at 10am. But since there's NOT, here's what I've done so far:

1. read teen vogue (7 minutes)
2. read my horoscope (mind you I don't even believe in horoscopes)
3. read daniella and zoe's horoscopes. (btw daniella, your love life is supposed to be awesome around the 19th)
4. called my father and asked him to explain computational biology to me.
5. realized I left my cell phone charger somewhere not in my room
6. daydreamed about being alive in the 1920s
7. tried to read, but still too hopped up on coffee
8. felt pathetic
9. took pictures of my stuffed animals

Summer Action 08

For Father's Day last year, we planned a small scavenger hunt. We planted clues all over our neighborhood and challenged my dad to find us! After a little help, (mostly convincing my dad that we had, in fact, NOT planned a trip to Big Bear and that he needed to read the clue again) my dad found us and a delightful picnic!

Disneyland September 08

Looking back on 2008, I found these great pictures of my family and me at Disneyland. My stepmother and I ran the Disneyland Half-Marathon in late August and decided to go to the park to celebrate. It was the perfect trip! We went on all the best rides and didn't have to wait in long lines. We ate DELICIOUS food in the New Orleans area as well!

Also, as a big Alice in Wonderland fan, I was especially happy to be able to see some famous Wonderland landmarks.

Housework

SO I may have forgotten to mention in my last post that what I have really been doing is housework. I have vacuumed the downstairs, cleaned up all the trash, taken out all the trash, swept and mopped the floors, cleaned all surfaces and organized the mail. I also brought in the christmas tree and cleaned the downstairs bathroom. Oh and I put away my mum and brothers' laundry that was on the floor near the washers and dryers.

Oh housework gods, forgive me for eating birthday cake (which I shared with my family) and watching Bravo (which was millionaire boys, which my mum hates anyways) I swear I am a good soul and not filled with sinful thoughts, no matter how hedonistic my sparkly leggings may appear!

This jacket was one of those wonderful unexpected finds. It doesn't button close, but it has princess seams, so things even out. I got a bunch of new digs from the AA sale and it was a lot of fun. We went up to LA around 3:30am and were able to be some of the first people in the sale. I got about fiddy thousand new clothes. I'm going to put in a serious effort to take pictures of them all and post them. I'm on Christmas break, so there is actually a chance of that happening.

I also got a new dress from Urban last night that is blue satin and has pockets. I'm still deciding whether to keep it or not since some of the pleats in the back hit the wrong places. Hmmmm...if I decide to keep it I'll post about it. Here is a link to the dress on Urban Outfitters.

Back to the jacket, I hope these jackets catch on. This is the first one I've seen for this cheap, and while they appear all over catalogs and ads, I've yet to see them make it big on the streets.

Where the Wild things ARE

These are some late photos of my Halloween costume as Max from Where the Wild Things Are and my new Dinosaur Beanie. It was made my this awesome girl in my textiles class. I will post her etsy site, which will be up Friday soon so you too can own one! They are awesome and she makes them for kids and babies too! I loved Where the Wild Things Are as a kid and I think everyone should get to dress up as a monster on a daily basis. I mean, if we're going to wear lame clothing and hippie headbands, we might as well get our beast side on as well! If you love the stuffed versions of the characters, they're available at Urban Outfitters. They have ornaments too!

P.S. Having a tail was one of the best experiences of my life. I HIGHLY recommend trying it.

Stubbs & Wooster

Now, while I am always complaining about how I wish it were fall and blah blah blah, now that it is actually fall, I have come to a few realizations. One, it is cold. Two, While I have lots of boots and jackets, I don't have much else in the way of dealing with cold weather. Thirdly, this is a predicament. Now, I have given this much thought over the last week and when on Friday I went to see Of Montreal, I stopped in Berkeley to do some shopping. What did I buy? A short sleeved sheer t-shirt, a pair of acid washed short shorts, and a slip. Yes, I have no self-control and my shopping alter ego has no common sense. I almost bought a 98 dollar swimsuit...YEESH.
Anyway, I came back home to FREEEZE. The weather has turned cold and I'm not sure what to do. I have two long sleeve shirts. This is not good. I have two pairs of jeans. This means that I can make it through about two days of the week. Of course jeans are reusable, but shirts...not so much. SO I ordered two shirts for 15 each from Urban Outfitters on sale. They are included below.
However, my feet are still cold in the house and one can not wear motorcycle boots TO EVERY occasion. (yes, tis a pity, but also a fact of life and growing up) Therefore, I am now on a major hunt for a nice pair of warm slippers to wear outdoors. Moccasins are nice, but also SO LAST year. I mean, if you love them, by all means get them, but unless they're studded, I'll pass. Luckily, I found my dream slippers. And, if I can over look (which I can't, thus the word DREAM) the 350 dollar price tag, they will be mine. They're Stubbs & Wooster which is THE best slipper store in the world as far as I'm concerned. I need a pair. For pjs, for dresses, for wearing with jeans and argyle socks.

...my voice even broke! Also, I learned a bunch of new dance moves that I can't wait to break out. I saw this with my friend Max this week, and I have to say, it was worth the money...although he paid. If you need a laugh and haven't treated yourself to a good two hours of pure enjoyment, this is a must see! Not to mention the previews are to die for! Also, the sequel is even better than the original! AHAHHHHH. My favorite character? King Julien! He and I are like one man.

I am the pickiest person when it comes to bags. This is an absolute truth. When you see a simply horrible plain boring bag on my arm it is not because I have bad taste in bags, but because the bags I like are so rare and expensive, there is no way I could possibly own them. In fact, there is are only two bags I have ever seen that I would deem worthy of a permanent place on my arm. Shocking right? I mean this is from a girl who at the sight of nearly every black leather motorcycle jacket or pair of knee high boots swoons. But no, when it comes to bags there is no room for an eclectic sense of fashion, or even a since of humor. Now, I do not know what the meaning of a bag is in other areas, but in Irvine, CA I find that bags are your calling card. I'm sure not everyone feels this way, but I do.
There are limited amounts of things to do in Irvine. You can go shopping, get lunch, go to the pool, go to the beach, go to a coffee place for a concert, or get your nails done. Now, besides the beach and the pool, your bag will be accompanying you to all of these outings and will be the first thing that catches the eyes of those around you.
A good bag can be your "get of jail free card" on a daily basis. For example, when purchasing some gorgeous item or trying on an expensive dress, carrying a good quality bag gives you instant respect and service. Also, if you are trying to pull off that famous (yet dreadful) Southern Californian "i rolled out of bed and thought hey i'm to rich to shower or look cute" style then a good quality bag can help you out and prevent people from writing you off at first glance.
Mostly though, your bag is your best friend. It holds everything dear to you and is a your sidekick through thick and then. It's your boyfriend or best friend who is always there for you. Your bag watches you try on all those horrible jeans and is a silent witness to all of your illegal u-turns. Thus, it is only right that you don't go sleeping around with every low down semi-nice bag in town. It's either all or nothing. I'd rather go out with my wallet in my pocket then leave the house with some bag that deep down resent and loathe. So I'll wait and save and hope and dream. Maybe one day I will enter into a commitment. There will be a bag that I can afford, financially and emotionally, that will be my sidekick and represent me when I don't look my best. Like on a long plane trip or an awkward first date at some cliche coffee house. Till then, here are my Christian Bale and Vincent Cassell bags.

What with the public FINALLY catching on about how great vampires are. Alright, alright...we had the 1990s, but they needed to come back! For those of us who stayed loyal and have always loved vamps, the hit HBO series Tru Blood and Twilight movie is a mix of joy and "I told you so!". Either way, I've finally discovered the best way to celebrate our beloved bloodsuckers. The best part? It's right in time for Halloween! It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Daniella and I worked long long hours today, and instead of going out to get drunk or visiting our crowded apartment pool, or cleaning our apartment we decided to watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for the first time. The show had cannibals, explosions, baby monitors, and madness run amuck. AKA, this was our lives on TV. Dennis and Mack are creepishly similar to Daniella and myself. We were both freaked. They're constant talking and interrupting of each other that leads to ridiculous conclusions that no one else can follow, combined with their uncanny determination to follow these insane pursuits to meaningless, dangerous ends basically described our relationship and life here and Davis. Not convinced? Look at the proof! These candid photos show just how similar we really are. Of course, Daniella and I are the real thing. She's the looks and I'm the brains and we're much more of a riot. Plus everyone knows it's always sunny in California.

My mom bought me two woooonderful pairs of tights before school. I love them both very much and even more so because they are wolford and they will NOT tear. I have a bazillion tights, many of which seem to be of the violet orientation (I can not imagine why?!), but these stand out, both because of their style and softness. Both the leotard and dress are American Apparel. I lovvvesss my clothes. We have tea parties and discuss the strength of the dollar, mostly so we can have some more foreign friends (meaning more clothing).

Finished Homemade Headboard and Room Pictures

YES! I have not only finished my headboard for my room, but also finished my room! Success! The headboard was based on the Pottery Barn Bed that I have been obsessed with all summer, the cute ikea bed, and what I believe a grown up Alice in Wonderland would sleep in! Tell me what you think! The desk and trunk are from Target. The chair and bedside table are from Ikea. The decals are from Ikea too and I got the idea from my cousins Catherine and Lauren! Daniella and I are now concentrating on making our hallway fantastic and a lil crazy. I'll post pics of everyones' rooms and our living room/balcony/dining/kitchen area asap when they're ready!

Bringing it Back

The last few years we've seen skinny jeans with longer tops pulled over. Lately though, I've been finding m old leather belts that I love. And honestly, at 5ft 4 inches I can't afford to shorten my legs. So after seeing Indiana Jones this summer where Shia Le Beouf plays an old fashioned greaser and also acquiring my own motorcycle jacket, I'm ready to pull up my pants, wear a belt, and roll up my shirt. Not only is it easier to move, but for curvy girls like me, it lets us show off our assets without looking fat.

I often blog mostly about clothes. However, I am just as interested in make up. I strongly believe that if you feel confident about how your face looks, any outfit will look 10000 times better. I don't always wear make up, but I usually do since my face often has a rosy shade to it that I'd rather tone down. That said, make up can be so much more fun then just a morning routine. It gives you the ability to completely change your appearance, just by changing the colors on your face. It can make you look exotic, flirty, professional, and even naturally looking gorgeous.
My favorite brand of make up is usually Urban Decay. I don't buy my basics like powder, lip balm, or mascara there because it's a bit too pricey, but when it comes to adding some drama with a smoky eye or giving some color for a night out, they are the only brand I trust. All of there products do what the labels say they do. The eyeshadow never creases and one swipe completely covers your eye. I have had the same shadows since sophomore year and they have yet to run low or stop performing. For the neon colors I highly recommend their eyeshadow primer potion. It goes on like a light creme and keeps your color vibrant all night. Urban Decay lets me get the make up artist looks I see in magazines and on the runway.
A lot of women seem to feel that complicated make up looks are difficult and beyond them. While Urban Decay is pricey, it really does deliver and these looks are sooooooooo easy to get.

I found this steal at a yard sale across from my mom's place. They had a lovely shabby chic table, but it was way overpriced. Instead I nabbed this BEAUTIFUL cabaret dress for a dollar. I got another dress too, but I need to alter it still. This dress fits perfect and for only a dollar I feel like going to Paris and dancing right away! AHHHH! Isn't the hair piece great too! I thought at first they were ridiculous...until I started imagining how awesome my room would look with them! However, they are 30.00. I'm thinking that while I may not be able to make the bed of my dreams from scratch, maybe I can at least make my own version of these flags! Hah! So here is my challenge for myself, to make these flags and show you the pictures when I am done!

I have an undying love for all things violet, purple, and lavender. This ranges from dying my hair manic panic ultra violet to searching everywhere for the perfect purple converses. Oh the sweet memories! My newest treasure are these purple wayfarers. I saw them in a magazine ad and HAD to have them. These are knock offs for 12 from a cart outside our local AMC theater. They are great great great....because they're purple!!!!! I also included a picture of Georgia May with purple hair because she's great and she makes me want to go dye mine all over again!

Gorgeous Bed Room

Daniella and Nicole share this darling bedroom which always reminds me of the Darling Nursery from Peter Pan. The lace curtains paired with the red velvet curtains and light blue paint give the room a wonderfully open fairytale like feel that still retains attitude. I love this room also because of the contrast between the delicate furniture and the hip posters and pictures on the wall. Although not featured in this picture there are also two large comfy chairs in the center of the room that qualify this space as the perfect female teen hang out.

Tipsy for Tea Cups!

Along with my other Alice in Wonderland obsessions, I have collect tea cups. I started when my grandmother began sending them to me on special occasions, and have expanded over the years, inheriting a large majority from my late grandmother. They cover my room, and turn up in the most surprising places. I use antique china to hold my perfumes and keys. I have had a few tea parties in the past, and hope to have more in the future. I feel that they give a certain charm to my room and hopefully serve some nice tea for guests. COME BY AND HAVE A CUP!

Summer is nice and warm, and I love going into the ocean. However, summer is dreadful because all I want is to purchase multiple pairs of boots and wear beanies and leggings and tights and dresses. I want fall. I want my dark purples, blues, burnt oranges, and heather grays. I'm not a flip flop and tube top type of girl. I can go with an Alice in Wonderland themed cocktail dress and some big curls at a dinner party and in a park, but after that one needs there "bad girl" side. I miss my leather bomber, and tall doc martens. They are in my closet, lonely and sad on the 95 degree days. I'm wearing retro shorts and sunglasses while lounging on leather chairs with Lars a pup, but it's just not the same. I can't stalk around the house or complain about the cold. These being my main hobbies, I'm left to read poetry and play frisbee. Sigh. Here are some items I dearly miss and look forward to wearing in the fall.

We went to San Francisco last weekend to celebrate Zoe's birthday and get some grub. We had a blast. We went to Union Square and the Haight. I got some blue corduroy shorts and a baby blue headband from American Apparel, a robot card for father's day and some special candies from cheap thrills, and an oil cloth tablecloth for my mudda from Mendel's. It was fun just to hang out and enjoy the nice weather. Daniella also grabbed a cool coke shirt from wasteland for $14. Pretty fun!

Over the Knee

I love the look of over the knee tights. My friend Zoe has ordered some recently from American Apparel and seems to like them a lot. They remind me of my stockings and garter phase in high school and at first I didn't think it was a good idea for me to get back in that arena. However, American Apparel has some very cool ones and they are a great way to make short summer dresses more interesting and versatile. They're great for cold summer nights, chilly spring days, and hopefully when pared with a mini skirt and some knee high boots, a good look for fall. I think with a cute beanie and some nice heels or flats they'll also make a great bohemian look. Zoe wears them with her amazing dresses and they work great. They're also thicker then tights and will probably work for cool bonfires on the beach when I don't want to wear jeans, but it's too cool for shorts. I think I'll probably hold off ordering a pair till fall, but I've been known to have a serious lack of self-control. Right now I'm loving these bright purple ones! What do you think?

I've just gotten into the show Bones on Fox. My mother, the genius that she is, has been trying to get me to watch it since the beginning. However, I'm a die-hard Buffy fan and it's hard to see David Boreanaz in the sunlight. However, I'm almost all caught up on all three seasons! I love the dynamic of the show. The entire cast is amazing. T.J. Thyne, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, Emily Deschanel, and Eric Millegan are wonderful.

1. I like to swing on swing sets usually once a day for an hour listening to my ipod. It relaxes me and keeps me sane. This is why my ipod has the weirdest collection of music ever. There is music from tv shows, movies, pod casts, and pop songs I don't even like all on one play list so I can listen to whatever I feel the urge for.
2. I can't stand calf length leggings or tights. They kill me. I think they should all be burned. I also dislike the layering of tank tops on top of tee-shirts or wear running sneakers with jeans. This is bad for the sneakers.
3. I jam out in the elevator and on my bike.
4. I am afraid of killer whales, tidal waves, and riptides. I think the whales will smush me if I go ocean kayaking and I have nightmares about them.
5. My idea of heaven would be an endless playground where i was continually armed with water balloons, nerf guns, laser tag weapons, and paint ball guns and could play all day with other people, no matter what age.
6. I am obsessed with the film Labyrinth with David Bowie. I am even going to the Labyrinth of Jareth this summer. It's a masquerade ball!

Well I'm sure you've noticed that Luella's new line has been showing up in magazines and blogs all over...the nation? internet? my dreams?
The point is its been around and I want it, want it, want it....not just some of it, ALL OF IT! Now if I were wealthy and could justify to my mother buying a $300 dollar skirt with yellow bats on it I would. In fact, if I had $300 at all right now I'd bypass the justifying and start ordering. However, it's more then just the skirt, it's the clutch, the keychain, the cardigan, the lovely corset dresses (drooling), and most importantly the cat eye sunglasses that I can't find anywhere online for sale and only in photoshoots and on the runway! Exhales. Yes, I'm smitten. I have a long lasting love of all things catwoman and batman, and this hurts. So for anyone who does have the money and the justifying capabilities, I salute you and hope that snatch these pieces up!

My Summer Style

I sometimes like summer clothes, but I'm rarely ever prepared. Where I love it gets hot hot hot and it's no fun in jeans or tights. I don't like showing my arms if I can so I like to wear lightweight cardigans. I love flats, but they can be sweaty so I like sandals that won't fall off. I like gladiator styles because they're cute and as long as they don't cut of your ankle, they are also flattering. I have two pairs right now and both of them refuse to fall off! This summer I really want to wear so lose shorts, both bermuda style (as long as they don't go too tight...no peddle pushers!!!!) and short shorts (as long as they aren't hooker status!). I think one of the funnest parts of summer is being able to wear whimsical light weight dresses. I really like to wear things that seem basic but have a little interest. I like dresses with big bows in the back and I'd like to get one with a low waist and sailor style back. I usually try to stay away from empire waists because they often exaggerate the tummy, and really who needs that? However, this dress worked for some mystical reason and I love the red and white detailing at the bottom. It also blows out when I twirl around! This summer I'm going for a modern Alice in Wonderland style with my romantic dresses and ribbon headbands. I also like a classic American style with polka dot shorts and cardigans. Mostly I'm having fun and trying to avoid getting heat stroke!

P.S. FYI I bought that blue crochet Urban Outfitters swimsuit I blogged about earlier and am so excited!

Z: : I'm a heat bix, so I don't like how hot it can get. I love summer because it means I have free time to work on my designs, and I get to hang out with everyone I don't see during school. A: I don't like how hot it can get. I love being able to lay out on the grass and watch the clouds go by; doing nothing for an hour or two outside is absolutely amazing. I love being able to work on my stories without worrying about neglecting homework. And summer nights on the beach and bonfires are definitely my fave. When dressing I want to avoid horrible tan lines and getting too dark, it happens way too fast and there's no way to fix it.

What don't you like about summer?

D: The hotness...not being able to wear jeans when I want, it destroys me. Also, how some people think that the high temperatures validates their wearing whatever tin clothes they want, however unflattering.

What do you like about summer?

D: Swimming, wearing cute lightweight dresses, sandals, and cute shorts. Finding creative cover-ups for your swimsuits. Cool summer nights when you can break out the cardigans and lightweight jackets. Also, how everything and everyone is carefree, and the "I don't care cause it's hot and I'm too cool (not referring to the temperature)" vibe fashion undertakes in hot weather.

What do you want to avoid when dressing for summer?

D: Me personally- sweating, so nothing too hot. Also, while I like tank tops and shorts, I don't like getting too tan., so I try not to wear the same uniform of bear limbs everyday.

What do you want to show off or have fun with this summer?

D: I want to show off my legs more, having only recently realized I can pull off shorts and skirts. One compliment goes a long way...

How would you describe your style this summer?

D: I'm going for a little girl look, like Lolita-esque. Mini-dresses, miniskirts, little shorts, and pretty blouses. And some cool sunglasses.

More Jacket Addiction

My mother says I have an addiction to jackets and black boots. I have denied this for years, and in my subtle rebelliousness thus hoarded what seems to be hundreds of jackets and boots...many looking suspiciously similar...

This spring break I made two more purchases of awesome possum jackets. One being a little boy's blazer from Imani off of 4th Street in Long Beach and another a fake leather bomber jacket from H&M. Both are very comfortable and seem to be black. Hmmmm...

The boys jacket is on the smallish side in the arms, but as Michael Kors so wisely said, "I know women who will bleed if the dress is gorgeous enough!" I really must agree...this jacket is tres cute and very fun, also I was checking out J. Crew blazers and while they are fabulous and classic...and comfortable, they are out of my price range. Both the jackets went for about 50.00 each. The H&M bomber is Southern Californian warm and tragically cool. :)

Silver Lame

I fell in love with this very sensible silver lame jacket for a reasonable (hahahaha) 60.00 from American Apparel. To prevent buyer remorse I have been wearing it often and finding different situations where it is the perfect, and often only jacket to wear...

As you can see I have found that besides being an Space Bunny one can the jacket may be used to head to the pool, go to a swing, and dance on your local basketball courts! And don't worry about your friends missing the action...the jacket seems to catch people's attention! :)

Today Daniella and I were again discussing my chances of meeting David Bowie and what he does during his daily routine. We figured kick boxing, breakfast, and feasting on Iman. Anyway, while on a routine google search we found his official site...where he has a blog! It's not been updated for a while from what we could tell and you have to pay a membership fee to look at the whole thing but it was nonetheless... AMAZING. Sitting here feeling pathetico once in a while chatting on ichat and facebook and blogging, it never occurred to me that my hero would be doing the same. Not only was he blogging mind you, but he also goes on chats and his blog was about Spongebob Squarepants...now not to be hasty but the term "soul mate" does come to mind...sigh. Anyway, now to find out if Vincent Cassel is also accessible via the internet!

Feathered Hair Clips!

Urban Outfiitters and I have a love/hate relationship. I love what they have, but hate their prices, customer service...and almost everything else about them. This feathered hair clip is the perfect example. While being ridiculously cute and much more rational then a hippie headband they are EIGHTEEN dollars!

To avoid being broke, I plan on going to the Davis bead store, "A Better Place To Bead" and make my own feathered hair clip creation.

I love this suit from Urban Outfitters. It has the crochet look, but is also fully lined. My favorite part is the eye-popping blue. The suit is the normal $80.00 price. So why aren't I ordering ASAP? Urban Outfitters has this suit, and many many others on back order till late April. Almost everything I've ordered from Urban has been on back order and usually comes a month later then the back order date. It's a shame because I'd love to have this suit for spring break, or even summer but it's hard to trust Urban to come through.

It's been too long. We've all been falling in love lately, and of course, she's Canadian. Irina Lazareanu is the IT girl of the moment. Officially pushing aside Agyness Deyn. BTW has no one noticed she's been around for a few years? I keep finding blogs or running into people who think she is "new". Stylish? Yes. Mainstream? Yes. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but so over it.

If only we were all skinny enough to pull of men's wear. Sigh.

Oscar Dresses

This Oscar season was by far the best lately, at least as far as the dresses went. Lately I have been a big fan of geometric themes and draping in dresses. For me, this is a step away from the ballerina dresses that have been seen on the runways...and in my closet. I love the clean silhouettes that are elegant and still interesting. Here are some of my personal favorites:

I loveeee Vanessa Paradis's dress. As a girl with some curves I love how it shows off her assets and still shows a beautiful figure.

I haven't seen Calista Flockhart in a while, but that is a great dress. It's vintage Valentino and while I don' like halters, I love the Atonement style wrap around. *Swoons*

I'm so excited about the new batman movie. I love Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman. I keep wishing it would have been released this Christmas. Batman movies never seem like summer movies to me. Hmmmmm...at least I can look forward to Sweeney Todd.
